Senator Ali Ndume has charged Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye of plotting to evacuate him as Senate Leader.
In a meeting with Premium Times, Ndume said his evacuation was on the grounds that he demanded that the Senate did not take after due process, in dismissing the assignment of Acting EFCC administrator, Ibrahim Magu.
“What I said was that for us (Senate) to claim to have a rejected a chosen one sent to us by the president, we need to take after the correct strategy, and watch our guidelines,” he said.
“The chosen one ought to have been called into the chamber and displayed before representatives who will then transparently vote on whether to acknowledge or dismiss his or her assignment.
“On account of Magu, that was not done. We just had a shut entryway session and when we developed the Senate representative guaranteed that he had been rejected. I needed to set the record straight by saying we never dismisses the candidate. This is on the grounds that you don’t acknowledge or dismiss a candidate at a shut session.
“Our votes and procedures are there as proof of my cases”, he included.
Ndume said he heard bits of gossip about the plot to expel him, however did not consider them important.
“I was astounded that such a basic and innocuous elucidation could shake and outrage some of my associates,” he said.
“A day or two ago, some individual said to me that the Senate President had authorized Dino Melaye to gather marks to evacuate me. I didn’t give careful consideration to the data since I really thought it was a joke or gossip.
“I didn’t feel that contradicting associates, and sharing my comprehension of what unfolded at our shut session was an offense, sufficiently egregious to bring about my expulsion”, he included.
